I was just wonder struck when in class I came to know that St. James is the patron of Library…I was thinking of St Thomas Aquinas.
Anyways I must say that from childhood I was a small, tiny, weak little bookworm and grew up like that worm and still a growing one. When I joined the aspirantate in Don Bosco, Lonavala. I was put incharge of the old, dusty, heavy library of the staff for the two years of my stay here.
When I was in Pre-novitiate (Kudal), I was incharge of the stagnant, stubbed, short-sighted library. When I was in the Novitiate (Nashik), for the first term I was made captain of the salesiana group and was incharge of the salesiana section along with the group. The section was fairly poorly in being updated with no ways and means to go beyond the limited cupboards already full and stuffed with brown baked burnt eaten books this could be said of the Novitiate library.
When I was in the philosophate (Nashik) doing my Bachelors course I must admit that I hardly read any philosophical books but the fictional as well as non-fictional section, the salesiana section, the social sciences section, spiritual section was I think well read by me although these were very slow in being updated I must confess that. Well for my Bachelors dissertation I attempted doing my on an author with whom you might be familiar with…(Late) Pope John Paul II so I ended up reading only this author more than any other.
Now presently, I am doing my Master in philosophy and to my surprise I landed up being the Librarian to the end of my first year. I must say the experience of being a librarian is a riddle to be…a game to be….a joke to be…I am putting it in a metaphor form but you must gage at what I am getting at….Well, One can be pronounced as a Saint not for glory and pride and fame but for witness and wit.
